DGH Engineering Proud Gold Sponsors of the 2019 Nude Lunch

DGH Engineering Proud Sponsors of the 2019 Nude Lunch

Planning is well underway for the 2019 Nude Lunch and DGH Engineering is proud to once again be a sponsor for the third consecutive year - our second as a Gold Sponsor.

The Nude Lunch is a charity fundraising luncheon committed to changing the story of ovarian cancer in Australia. Ovarian cancer is considered a silent killer as it often goes undetected until too late. The Nude Lunch aims to raise awareness about this silent killer and raise vital funds for research programs so an early detection test can be found.

Sadly the founder of the Nude Lunch, Trudy Crowley, passed away just prior to the 2018 event where more than 800 guests attended the masquerade-themed lunch. This is on record as being the biggest Nude Lunch to date and also Mackay's largest seated ever event.

“I’m making sure our next generation has the best chance of detecting it as early as possible before it is too late. Ovarian cancer may be a silent killer, but we’re not going to stay silent about it.” – Trudy Crowley

All proceeds raised by the Nude Lunch go to Ovarian

Cancer Australia, who aim to reduce the incidence of ovarian cancer by 25% and to improve the five-year survival rate by 25% by the year 2025.

DGH Engineering General Manager, Dave Hackett, said he found the event to be very well organised and received some great feedback from staff members that also attended. “Everyone attended with two things in mind - to help raise money for ovarian cancer research and to have a good time.

When asked why he chose for DGH Engineering to be a sponsor of the Nude Lunch, Dave said his goal was to help with awareness of ovarian cancer. “There is a lot of publicity and information on many other diseases but very little on ovarian cancer. There isn’t a cure but with increased funding, a cure may be found giving those suffering from ovarian cancer quality of life.”

No strangers to supporting local charity organisations, DGH Engineering also make regular donations to RACQ CQ Rescue and sponsor events such as the Mayors Charity Ball, along with sporting clubs including the Mackay Cutters, Whitsunday Sharks netball and more

Each year the Nude Lunch continues to grow with thanks to the amazing support from the sponsors and the local community. If you would like to show your support for the Nude Lunch, follow their Facebook Page for announcements on when tickets will be available for this years event.

Due to continued growth, DGH Engineering’s Emerald operations has moved from the office and workshop facility at 93 Macauley Rd, Emerald to a much larger facility at 44 – 46 Industrial drive, Emerald. This new facility is in a great location with excellent access for heavy vehicles. The workshop area spans 504sqm of floor space with 3,246sqm of laydown area. This facility is the headquarters for our Southern Operations which services the Emerald, Tieri, Middlemount and Blackwater areas.

This larger facility now allows us to take on larger projects and employ more local people. The workshop contains the latest welding machines and steel processing equipment.

This larger facility will also allow us to better service future and current clients in the mining (open cut & underground), material handling, processing industries and general fabrication.
