DGH Engineering was recently tasked with a project for BHP Billiton at Peak Downs Mine which involved 3S & 4N Water Fill Points. The structure was deuterating due to the overflow of water from truck refills so DGH sent the existing structure offsite to our Mackay workshop for structural repairs to return the integrity of the structure to its original condition.
This structure was very corroded so DGH recommended poly-spraying to extend the life of this structural steel frame. The team had to remove and replace a percentage of the handrails to eliminate the risk of personnel entering a high-risk area with heavy vehicles. The entire structure was expertly blasted and repainted with grouting added to the base of the structure.
The entire project had a six-day turnaround with no incidents or accidents. Another top job by #TeamDGH!
